Long transcripts load in smaller blocks, dense caption timelines use a lightweight overview, and caption generation limits CPU workers and progress updates. Offscreen inspector sections defer work until needed. This release also improves background imports, caption cancellation, preview playhead preservation, and GIF timing. Tested with a complete 44-minute local transcription, including playback, split, undo, saving, and reopening.

Project saving now runs in the background, preview checks no longer pause editor controls, and timeline thumbnails load in efficient batches. Bounded media caches also prevent long editing sessions from becoming progressively heavier.

Steps cards now separate number, title, list, border, and background colors. Text layers have clearer controls for appearance, motion, size, layout, and cards, while long titles fit their available space more gracefully. Timeline clicks preview the selected moment accurately. Smart Director is review-first: it proposes improvements and applies only the changes you approve.

Crossfades now dissolve smoothly between two moving clips while preserving project duration and the timing of captions, zooms, drawings, camera scenes, and other effects.

Clips and audio lanes now show real waveforms, timeline zoom goes much deeper, and the playhead remains visible during playback. Keyboard nudging, compact lane layouts, contextual menus, and draggable, trimmable cuts make detailed edits faster.

Silence detection now analyzes the microphone track and adapts to the speaker's volume. Duplicated clips keep their text, captions, focus frames, and zooms, and media caching improvements make drawing-heavy and Explain projects more responsive.

Text layers gained point sizes, access to installed Mac fonts, and a plain-text option. New arrow and circle callouts expand annotations, a calm-to-energetic control adjusts Smart Zoom, and focus-frame and effect previews render more efficiently.

Captions can now be selected and resized directly on the video canvas. Guided Focus turns recorded clicks into spotlight moments, and the account panel clearly identifies Trial, Yearly, or Founder Lifetime access.

The camera bubble can be resized and cropped directly in preview. Audio mute ranges silence selected parts of a take, microphone checks help resolve duplicated system audio, and a unified layer stack keeps video, image, and text overlays predictable. Downloads now use a drag-to-Applications DMG.

Screen Draw strokes can now be located, removed, or restored after recording.

Added crop controls for camera, screen recordings, and imported clips; 2K export with size estimates; a camera visibility shortcut; pre-recording audio checks; and a sample lesson project for exploring the editor before recording.

Added caption appearance controls and made the current app version visible in the account panel.

Added animated Steps and Ideas cards with reveal timing, plus direct dragging and trimming for imported clips. This release also improved Screen Draw and Explain behavior on multi-monitor setups and corrected drawing and text orientation in exports.

OurScreen now updates itself: new versions arrive through the app rather than by downloading a fresh build. Added sign out and license switching, a resizable preview, caption progress with inline setup for the offline caption engine, and a Move-to-Applications prompt on first launch.
